The Department of Physical Therapy at East Carolina University is seeking candidates for a full-time, 12 month tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Responsibilities include: (1) Instruction in musculoskeletal physical therapy practice, biomechanics, movement analysis or area(s) of expertise; (2) Mentoring graduate students and (3) Establishment of a productive and potentially fundable research program.

East Carolina University is located in Greenville, North Carolina. Greenville is the cultural, educational, medical, and economic center of Eastern North Carolina. Pitt County has a population of approximately 156,000 and is located halfway between the capital city of Raleigh and the Outer Banks. East Carolina University (nearly 28,000 students) is an integral part of Pitt County Memorial Hospital, the regional medical center that serves 29 counties. In addition to graduating the most allied health students in the state, the College of Allied Health Sciences has a strong working relationship with the ECU Brody School of Medicine, the East Carolina Heart Institute, and the future School of Dental Medicine opening in 2011.

The Department of Physical Therapy is housed in a new state of the art building that is adjacent to the Health Sciences Library, College of Nursing, Brody School of Medicine and Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Graduates from the program have exhibited a 100% first time pass rate on the Physical Therapy Board examination.  

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements include: completed or near completed PhD degree (or comparable), eligibility for PT licensure in NC and evidence of current or potential research productivity.
