Welcome to the Pre-Physical Therapy Club!

Our main goal is to provide students interested in physical therapy with information and advice about the program, and give you a better understanding of PT and the DPT program at ECU.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy program at ECU is very competitive.  Membership in the Pre-PT Club will enable you to meet the faculty, as well as other physical therapists who practice in the area.  It will also help you form a network of contacts that can assist you on your road to success.

Joining the Pre-Physical Therapy Club is as simple as creating an account on orgsync.com and searching for ECU's Pre-PT Club under the Medical and Health Science section.

Meetings

We usually have two club meetings per semester.  Every meeting has speakers who will discuss the program or PT-related issues and offer advice on succeeding with your application process.

Volunteer Experience

One of the requirements for admission to the DPT program is to provide evidence of exposure to the practice of physical therapy. The best way to do this is through volunteer work. Below is a list of volunteer sites in eastern North Carolina. Remember: two of the three letters of reference submitted with your application must be from licensed physical therapists who supervised your PT experience. A minimum of 100 volunteer hours is encouraged.
