Our main goal is to provide students interested in physical therapy with information and advice about the program, and give you a better understanding of PT and the DPT program at ECU. The Doctor of Physical Therapy program at ECU is very competitive but membership in the Pre-PT Club will help to prepare you for the application process, enable you to meet the faculty, as well as allow you to learn about physical therapy from PT's who practice in the area. It will also help you form a network of contacts that can assist you on your road to success.
Joining the Pre-Physical Therapy Club is as simple as creating an account on OrgSync and requesting to become a member of our chapter at:
OrgSync is a web-based platform and community management system that centralizes student involvement and streamlines campus and organization communication.

Please feel free to contact any of us with questions or suggestions for the club.
We usually have three club meetings per semester. Every meeting includes either a workshop or speaker presentation who will discuss physical therapy, various programs, or PT-related issues. They will also offer advice on succeeding with your application process. Lastly we will offer volunteer events that help to get undergraduates involved with graduate students and DPT faculty.
One of the requirements for admission to the DPT program is to provide evidence of exposure to the practice of physical therapy. The best way to do this is through volunteer work. Below is a list of volunteer sites in eastern North Carolina. Remember: two of the three letters of reference submitted with your application must be from licensed physical therapists who supervised your PT experience. A minimum of 100 volunteer hours is encouraged.
