Student Financial Aid
Traineeships
The department has traditionally received grant awards for stipends from the Rehabilitation Services Administration, U.S. Department of Education. Stipends may be available to graduate students who are enrolled full-time in the department. Students may not be engaged in full-time employment during the period of the award. This award pays tuition and fees and a monthly stipend (living allowance). The stipend is a form of Government Loan that does not have to be repaid if the student works in certain public or non-profit rehabilitation agencies.
Graduate Research Assistantship
A number of graduate students each year are selected to assist the department's faculty with research and academic activities. The amount of money the assistantship provides depends on the number of working hours available. Students are eligible to apply for and receive more than one form of financial assistance. Only full-time students may apply for financial assistance through the department.
