Dr. Mary K. Crozier received her B.A. in Sociology from Old Dominion University, her M.A. in Counseling Education from the University of Virginia, and her Ed.S. and Ed.D. in Counseling Education from the College of William and Mary. She is an associate professor and the coordinator of the Substance Abuse Counseling Certificate Program. She teaches Alcohol and Drug Abuse: Health and Social Problems, Treatment of Alcohol and Drug Addiction, Contemporary Alcohol/Drug Abuse Issues, and Prevention of Alcohol and Drug Abuse. Prior to coming to ECU, she was on the faculty at Medicine Hat College in the Addictions Counselling Program and adjunct faculty at the College of William and Mary in the School of Education. She has also worked in several mental health and academic settings in Virginia since 1979. Her areas of expertise and research interest include substance abuse prevention and process addictions. Aside from work, Mary enjoys nature, kayaking, spending time with girlfriends and grandkids, listening to NPR, solving sudoku puzzles, and traveling.
