The Section of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at East Carolina University is currently accepting applications for Vascular Surgery fellowship training in a (5+2) program, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). This new two-year program will accept one fellow each year, with a position opening July 1, 2013. The NRMP will be utilized for trainees beginning the 2013 training year, however we know we have a very late start. Our ACGME Program ID is 4503600125.
Training will take place at the East Carolina Heart Institute, which is a joint venture between the Brody School of Medicine and Vidant Medical Center (formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital). The institute is comprised of a newly opened state-of-the-art outpatient and inpatient center. The section of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery has full access to modern endovascular suites, contemporary cardiovascular operating rooms and dedicated inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular patient care facilities. The section is supported by a clinical research program, and the fellow will have time and support for research in addition to exposure to all facets of open and minimally invasive Vascular Surgery. The faculty is comprised of five fellowship trained surgeons.
