There are several vein problems dealt with by vascular surgeons. Problems can be as simple as cosmetic or they may cause legs to burn and swell. Heredity, surgery near hips and legs, as well as standing for long periods of time cause vein discomfort. Over long periods of time as the veins weaken, blood can pool and clot inside the vein.
