After Camp

At the end of Take Off 4-Health, each camper will receive a family packet which includes a copy of the camp handouts and other materials to assist the camper and his/her family in maintaining healthy lifestyle changes. In addition, the following programs will be offered in 2012-2013:

Bridge Program: While kids are at camp, parents who live within a drivable distance to Greenville, NC will be invited to attend a Bridge Program. This once/week evening program for the three weeks of camp will provide parents with the opportunity to learn what their child is doing at camp. The Bridge Program will also help parents prepare their home for when the camper returns from Take Off 4-Health.

Telephone Support: Families will be offered the opportunity to participate in a telephone-based program for 11 months after camp. The 2-3 telephone calls/month by camp counselors will provide ongoing support in achieving weight-related goals.

Quarterly Camp Reunions: Quarterly camp reunions will be offered in Greenville, NC in November 2012, February 2013 and May 2013. These two-hour sessions on a Saturday will provide campers a chance to interact with each other, hear a motivational speaker, share a healthy meal, touchbase with camp counselors and set new goals.

While the follow up program is voluntary, we strongly encourage it to provide continued support and education for the camper and his/her family. Additional follow up programs may be available each year. Please check with us to learn more!
