Campers participate in six interactive nutrition classes taught by NC Cooperative Extension agents and the Nutrition Coach. Each class covers a basic nutrition topic to help campers make healthy food choices. Each lesson includes a brief presentation on the topic and a fun, hands-on activity. Topics include:
- Use of “camper cards” to guide food choices
- The Stoplight Food Guide
- Label Reading
- Portion control
- Healthy drink choices
- Increasing fruits and vegetable consumption
- Tips for eating out
