National Telehealth Virtual Grand Rounds

In collaboration with the Idaho State University telehealth program, the East Carolina University Telemedicine Center has implemented a “National Telehealth Virtual Grand Rounds” (NTHVGR) program. The purpose of the NTHVGR is threefold:

Provide a regular forum for addressing contemporary issues in telehealth, using the substantial videoconferencing and networking infrastructure inherent in U.S. telehealth programs.
Foster collegial relationships between telehealth programs.
Increase awareness of telehealth by creating a repository of grand rounds presentations on the worldwide web.

Schedule

Nominally, these sessions are held on the 3rd TUESDAY of every month from 3:30-4:30 EST. Updates for the schedule are sent via the NTHVGR listserver (see below) and on the ECU Telemedicine Center website (www.ecu.edu/telemedicine/telehealth_rounds/schedule.htm).

There are three modes of participating in or viewing the NTHVGR:

Interactive videoconferencing
If you would like to participate by interactive videoconferencing, please RSVP with Joel Davis @ NC-REN if you're coming in IP (H.323) or Robbie Spencer @ ECU if ISDN. There are only limited ISDN ports on ECU’s MCU, so please try to participate by H.323 or webcast if possible. Joel and Robbie's contact info:

Live Web Streaming

The NTHVGR sessions are simulcast as a webcast via ECU’s MediaSite system. This system will allow you to hear and see the presenter, and ask questions via e-mail or text messaging. The url for the NTHVGR webcast is (make sure to paste the whole URL in your browser):
