In April 2005 a Nikon CoolScope virtual microscope was installed at Outer Banks Hospital (OBX) in Nags Head, NC for interoperative (frozen section) pathology and cytology. The system has minimized pathologist travel to OBX to support Monday morning surgeries – this is significant as OBX is a three-hour drive from Greenville.
