East Carolina University uses a wide variety of communication tools available to notify students, staff, faculty and the local community about campus emergencies and critical information. The ECU web page is one of the most up-to-date forms of information during an emergency.
We understand that family members and people in the community may wish to receive direct notification of campus emergencies as well. Please be aware that even though you register, you will not receive every communication we send to students, staff and faculty.
To change your email address, or be removed from the EMAIL list in the future, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Family and Community Member, click below to Sign-Up for ECU Alert Emergency Messages. An email address is required for registration, and you may not use the same email address to register twice.
Parent/Family Note: Do not send duplicate registrations. Do not register different phone numbers or people with the same email address. Doing so will cause an error in the system and you may not receive messages. If your email address or cell phone number has changed, please send an email to email@example.com. To discontinue cell phone text messaging, reply with only the word STOP to an ECU Alert text message.

To unsubscribe from texts, simply reply to the last text message received with just the word STOP (no other words or punctuation). If you would also like to unsubscribe from email Alerts, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request removal from the system.
Notice regarding Pop-Up Alerts: The former Pop-Up notification system is no longer in use and may be uninstalled/removed from your computer. The new pop-up instant messaging application is only available for students, staff, and faculty via the ECU Software Download Center (PirateID login required).
