FAMILY MEMBERS and INTERESTED MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY:
Sign Up for the Campus Emergency Notification System!
East Carolina University has a wide variety of communication tools available to notify students, staff, faculty and the local community about campus emergencies and critical information such as class cancellations due to weather, and preparedness for approaching storms.
We understand that family members and people in the community may wish to receive notification of certain emergency events as well.
By following the link below you can provide us with contact information so that we will be able to contact you in case of emergency. Our preferred form of communication will be e-mail; however, in certain cases we may send a text message to a cell phone.
- Please be aware that you will not receive every communication we send to students. Notices to families and members of the community will likely include follow-up details or updates on a situation. Our first priority will be to get information to our students, staff, and faculty as rapidly as possible.
- In order to receive notices, you must agree to incur any and all cellular phone charges and fees associated with these notifications, and check the box on the sign-up form agreeing to this. Email messages sent will provide a link to "unsubscribe" at the bottom, should you decide you no longer wish to be notified.
- By providing a cell phone number and email address, individuals are consenting to ECU sharing this information with the university's service provider AudienceCentral, Inc. for the sole purpose of providing ECU’s emergency messaging system. This information will not be shared with any other parties. You must check the box on the sign-up form agreeing to this or we cannot include you in our mailings.
