Walter Brueggemann, an American Old Testament scholar and author, and an advocate and practitioner of rhetorical criticism, will present the Jarvis Lecture on Christianity and Culture as part of the 2009-10 Voyages of Discovery series.

Trudier Harris' talk, "Little Old Ladies and the Last Word: An Exploration of Sassiness and Risque Behavior in African American Folklore," is the Sallie Southall Cotten Lecture, part of the 2009-10 Voyages of Discovery series.
