"Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," based on the MGM movie of the same name and "The Sobbin' Women" by Stephen Vincent Benet, will be presented Nov. 19-24 in McGinnis Theatre by the ECU/Loessin Playhouse.
"Going courtin'" has never been as much fun as this rip-roaring stage version of the popular MGM movie. Millie is a young bride living in 1850s Oregon wilderness who plan to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brother-in-laws to ensure the success of her own marriage backfires when the brothers, in their enthusiasm, kidnap six women from a neighboring town to be their brides. Bursting with the rambunctious energy of the original film, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" is all boisterous fun and romance that harkens to the glory days of the movie musical.
Performance times will be 8 p.m. Nov. 19-21 and 23-24; 2 p.m. Nov. 22.
