November 9, 11, 16, and 18
Class size is limited to the first 25 participants and it generally fills up quickly, so be sure to sign up as soon as possible if you are interested. Attendance at all four sessions is required to complete the course and obtain your certificate.
The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training. R.A.D. is not a Martial Arts program. The course is taught by nationally certified R.A.D. Instructors and provides each student with a workbook/reference manual. This manual outlines the entire Physical Defense Program for reference and continuous personal growth, and is the key to our free lifetime return and practice policy for R.A.D. graduates.
You may register for any of these courses online by going to the ECU police website at www.ecu.edu/police and clicking on the program link and then RAD self defense. Use the drop down menu and pick which month you would like to take the course.
