During the event, 21 educators and education advocates will be inducted.
Each inductee was sponsored and a monetary gift of $1,000 or more was contributed to the College of Education’s Educators Hall of Fame Scholarship endowment on their behalf. Annual interest from the Educators Hall of Fame endowment is used to fund merit-based scholarships for College of Education students. This prestigious merit scholarship program attracts more of the best and brightest students to the College of Education.
Begun in 1999, the Educators Hall of Fame recognizes the service of those whom East Carolina alumni and friends are most grateful. In the past 14 years, more than 375 outstanding educators have been inducted into ECU’s Educators Hall of Fame and over $412,000 have been raised for student scholarships. The goal is for the endowment to reach to $1 million.
