In 1961, 1st Lt. Jack B. ReVelle - an Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer - led the de-arming and recovery of two thermonuclear (hydrogen) bombs that were accidently dropped over Faro, N.C. At the March 25 lecture, ReVelle will describe the eight days he and his 10-man team spent locating and recovering one of the two weapons which buried itself in a tobacco field and swamp.
The lecture is sponsored by the ECU College of Technology and Computer Science, the College of Business and the Office of Military Programs.
