With original choreography by faculty, guest artist John Magnus and the North River Dance company, Dance 2013 will be presented Jan. 31-Feb. 5 in McGinnis Theatre. This annual dance concert is described as "eclectic, eccentric and electric."

ECU hosts the popular Foreign Policy Association’s Great Decisions Program through March 9. The program, now in its ninth year at ECU and co-sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Eastern North Carolina, will run for consecutive Saturdays through March 9. Sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Rivers West Building auditorium on the ECU campus.

ECU's Dowdy Student Store will host a graduation expo for May 2013 graduates on Feb. 5, 6 and 7. Seniors can pick up their cap and gown, register for graduation, and order a class ring, diploma frame and announcements. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 5 and 6, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 7.

Four ECU faculty artists will display their works Feb. 8 through May 15 in the Joyner Library Exhibit Gallery as part of a collaborative community exhibition on the theme of love. Artists' reception will be Feb. 20.

Stringer, visiting professor of English and 2012 David Julian and Virginia Suther Whichard Distinguished Professor in the Humanities, will give a free, public lecture examining the first collected edition of poems by John Donne, one of the most important volumes of poems every published in English.

Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to raise money to combat hunger while reminding participants of all the empty bowls in the world. Guests purchase $15 tickets for a meal of soup and bread, along with a handmade bowl.

The 2013 Greenville Chinese New Year Celebration will be held Sunday, Feb. 10, with a free stage show at 3 p.m. in Wright Auditorium. A Chinese New Year buffet dinner, which is a ticketed event, will be held beginning at 5:30 p.m. at West End Dining Hall.
