ECU hosts the popular Foreign Policy Association’s Great Decisions Program through March 9. The program, now in its ninth year at ECU and co-sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Eastern North Carolina, will run for consecutive Saturdays through March 9. Sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Rivers West Building auditorium on the ECU campus.

The Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers will screen "Free China: The Courage to Believe,” follows the story of Jennifer Zeng, a mother and former Communist Party member, and Dr. Charles Lee, a Chinese-American businessman, who were imprisoned and tortured for their practice of Falun Gong, a type of Taoist and Buddhist mediation. Filmmaker Michael Perlman will attend the free screening.

In 1961, 1st Lt. Jack B. ReVelle - an Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer - led the de-arming and recovery of two thermonuclear (hydrogen) bombs that were accidently dropped over Faro, N.C. At the March 25 lecture, ReVelle will describe the eight days he and his 10-man team spent locating and recovering one of the two weapons which buried itself in a tobacco field and swamp.
The lecture is sponsored by the ECU College of Technology and Computer Science, the College of Business and the Office of Military Programs.
