Panorama Jazz Band is a fabulous party band from New Orleans, whose repertoire draws on the most exciting music from around the world: the Caribbean rhythms of Martinique in the French West Indies; the exotic Klezmer and Balkan melodies of Eastern Europe, and the non-stop syncopation of New Orleans second-line.

Dr. Will Brooker will speak on “Tales of the Dark Knight: Batman as Mosaic, Myth and Folk Hero" at the Greenville Art Museum. Brooker is head of Film and TV research at Kingston University, London. A reception with light refreshments will begin at 6 p.m. with the program starting at 7 p.m.

Founded in 1992, the New Century Chamber Orchestra looks for fresh, exciting ways to present classical music. On Jan. 24, the orchestra will perform with featured violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg in Wright Auditorium, as part of the S. Rudolph Alexander Performing Arts Series.
