The initiative, organized by CASE Affiliated Student Advancement Programs, is designed to increase student understanding of philanthropy and grow engagement on campuses.
Students will have an opportunity to make a gift to the Student Memorial Emergency Fund from monies collected in their “Quarters” piggy banks, and will also receive information on how private donor dollars make a difference for their education.
“Students are doing things every day to make a difference on our campus. They volunteer their time to fulfill our mission of service, they share their talents to enrich our culture, and by participating in Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day, students have the opportunity to further invest in their ECU experience by sharing their treasure. Regardless of the size of their gift, we want students to know they are making a difference,” said Doug Smith, interim director of annual giving.
Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day is part of CASE ASAP’s goal to foster and enhance student involvement in all areas of advancement—including fundraising, alumni relations, communications, and marketing.
