Participants will include faculty, staff, students from ECU, local community colleges and universities and their community partners.
At the end of this Symposium participants will be able to:
Describe a public university's ethical responsibilities to its communities.Analyze the ethical principles involved when communities and campuses work together.Participate in case studies involving ethical dilemmas.Understand the community and university's perspectives toward public service.Network with community partners and university/college colleagues engaged in public service.
The Symposium is a partnership between five ECU units (Office of Public Service and Community Relations, the Office of Human Research Integrity, the Faculty Senate Service Learning Committee, the Office for Faculty Excellence, and the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center) and North Carolina Campus Compact.
