ADULT EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (AEA)
The Adult Education Association is a professional organization for students, alumni, faculty, and friends of ECU's Adult Education graduate program.  AEA promotes the preparation of adult and higher education practitioners who are knowledgeable, proficient, and reflective in their practice and who serve as advocates for lifelong learning.  Members of the Association participate in workshops and continuing professional education of interest to education professionals, and contribute to community service activities beneficial to eastern North Carolina and beyond.


CMLA (COLLEGIATE MIDDLE LEVEL ASSOCIATION -MIDDLE GRADES CLUB)
A professional education organization for college students preparing to become middle level teachers. An affiliate of National Middle School Association.

COUNSELOR EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (CEA)
The Counselor Education Association is an organization of graduate students from the counselor education program.  Its purpose is to promote the counseling profession and encourage student involvement in state and national counseling associations.  The CEA organizes meetings throughout the year to inform students of professional issues and other topics of interest.  The association also seeks funding to support student registration and participation at state counseling conferences.  Officers of the CEA are elected by the student membership and a faculty member advise the association.


ECU CHAPTER (GAMMA) OF NC COUNCIL OF TEACHERS OF MATHEMATICS
The Gamma Chapter of the NC Council of Teachers of Mathematics promotes the teaching and learning of mathematics at all grade levels.  The organization meets approximately five times per semester.  Meetings include presentations about the teaching of mathematics by ECU students or faculty and by visitors.  Membership is open to any ECU student who has an interest in the teaching of mathematics.  Membership is by semester and is free.

ELEMENTARY EDUCATION CLUB
Open to all intended and declared elementary education majors. The club meets, on the average, twice a month and features interesting programs and speakers designed to inform, entertain, and inspire Elementary students. Refreshments, door prizes, newsletters, handouts, and opportunities to earn Special Service Awards are regularly included.



English Education (ENED) Student Club

An active professional education organization for college students preparing to become secondary English teachers.

KAPPA DELTA PI, INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY IN EDUCATION
The Eta Chi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi takes pride in those individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their academic, professional, and personal achievements. The purpose of Kappa Delta Pi is to promote excellence in and recognize outstanding contributions to education, as well as educate educators.

Phi Delta Kappa
Phi Delta Kappa is an international association for professional educators. The organization's mission is to promote quality education as essential to the development and maintenance of a democratic way of life by providing innovative programs, relevant research, visionary leadership, and dedicated service.


Science Education Association (SEA)

Science Education Association(SEA) - North Carolina Science Teachers Association -(NCSTA) and National Science Teachers Association Student Chapter - (NSTA)

The Science Education Association is an organization of undergraduate and graduate students from program areas of science education, middle and elementary education. Its purpose is to promote the profession of science teaching and encourage student involvement in state and national science education associations. The SEA organizes meetings throughout the year to education students on professional opportunities, discuss issues affecting the profession, and explore topics of interest in the field of science education. The association is a part of the National Science Teaching Association, which promotes student chapters among universities providing leadership opportunities and professional development. Officers of SEA are elected by the student membership and a faculty member advises the association.

SNCAE- Student  North Carolina Association of Educators

Open to all Elementary students from freshman through senior years. This club provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn from interesting programs and to meet other students in their major and in teacher education, as well as enjoy refreshments, win door prizes, and participate in professional activities off campus! Meeting times and places are posted throughout the Speight Building.
