Alternative Routes to teacher licensure allow persons with at least a bachelor's degree to work toward a teaching license through various routes. If you are an adult changing careers, a recent graduate with a four year degree, separating from military service or a homemaker entering the workforce, and you meet admission requirements, one of East Carolina University's many alternative routes to teaching may fit your needs.
Requirements for acceptance to ECU Alternative Licensure Programs:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (some exceptions see FAQ)
