Dr. Tessie C. Guidry comes to the Department of Curriculum and Instruction with seven years of experience in both elementary and secondary education in the public schools of North Carolina. Dr. Guidry also served as the Interim Director of the Advising Center for Technology and Computer Science from 2003 until 2006 at East Carolina University. She assumed the role of Master’s of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Coordinator for elementary, K-12, and secondary programs in 2007. In addition, she teaches courses in basic teaching methodologies for MAT students. She has conducted research in the area of educational leadership with a particular focus on leadership styles among women leaders. Additional research interests include the effectiveness of alternative licensure programs in preparing pre-service teachers and the effectiveness of utilizing professional learning teams within K-12 school environments. She is currently involved in several collaborative publication and grant opportunities.
