The PhD Planning Committee in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction has established the web resources you will find linked to this page. These web-based resources have been designed to assure that two important goals are accomplished during the PhD planning process.
First, the PhD Planning Committee wishes to assure that all faculty and staff are fully informed regarding the work of the committee. Toward that end, minutes for all PhD Planning Committee meetings will be posted on the attached pages. Additional documents generated by the PhD Planning Committee will also be posted.
Secondly, the PhD Planning Committee wishes to provide a variety of ways for faculty and staff to offer feedback, input, and critical review of the work of the PhD Planning Committee. In order to facilitate that process, a page supporting threaded discussion of issues related to the planning process has been established. As issues are raised in the committee, they will be posted to this page and faculty input will be solicited.
In addition, e-mail addresses for all PhD Planning Committee members have been posted and you are invited to share your comments with any committee member.
Prior to the creation of the PhD Planning Committee, two meetings were held for the purpose of open discussion of the PhD planning process among faculty and staff. A summary of those meetings is available as a document on this webpage. Additional meetings will be conducted at various stages of the planning process by the PhD Planning Committee to solicit faculty and staff input.
