Dr. Lisa Rogerson is the Director for the Advising Center in the College of Education. She teaches both introductory and methods courses in the elementary education program area. Although interested in all components of teacher preparation, her primary focus is on recruitment and retention of students into teacher education at East Carolina University. Dr. Rogerson is interested in developmental advising for students from orientation through graduation, assisting them with responsible decision-making and efficient transition through selected programs of study and promoting student leadership opportunities. Her current research efforts address the freshman year experience and the transition for students from high school to the post secondary level, specifically students interested in teacher education programs. Dr. Rogerson is a former elementary teacher and school counselor.
