Module Title: “Integrating Character Education with Explorations of Children’s Literature”

Module Overview: Participants examine the effective use of reading strategies with texts focusing on character education themes. Posing higher-level thinking questions and conducting meaningful dialogue are emphasized. A read aloud lesson plan format and rubric is provided to guide participants in planning a learning experience aligned with North Carolina Standard Course of Study objectives.

Technology requirements include the ability to send and receive email with and without attachments, use a word processing program such as Microsoft Word, and access and navigate the Internet. Additionally, the final products for this module may be submitted via several formats including submission of word-processed documents and photographs scanned or taken with digital camera.
