Module Overview
Participants learn how to effectively implement a successful guided reading program in grades 3-5 classrooms. This module teaches participants about using assessment data to create flexible groups, planning for guided reading within a suggested framework, selecting texts for guided reading, explaining student and teacher roles before, during and after reading and establishing consistent guided reading routines.

Module Pre-requisite
Participants should know the instructional level of each reader.

Technology requirements
Participants’ technology knowledge should include sending and receiving e-mail with and without attachments, accessing and searching the Internet, using a word-processing program such as Microsoft Word and utilizing the tools found in Blackboard.
