Module Title: “Using Socratic Seminars with Children’s & Young Adult Literature”

Module Overview: Participants explore Socratic Seminars, including background information, seminar roles and guidelines, choice of appropriate text, and framing seminar questions. This module requires that participants conduct a seminar with 10-15 children using a piece of quality children’s or young adult literature appropriate for their grade level.

Technology requirements include the ability to send and receive email with and without attachments, use a word processing program such as Microsoft Word, and access and navigate the Internet.
