Participant Review of this Module:
Providing a reflection log with specific comments was not time consuming but extremely beneficial to me to monitor daily progress of my students. Actually the students enjoyed keeping their own logs. This module was about vocabulary development and the connection between knowledge and comprehension. We read a story, defined it by synonym, antonym, ways/places/and situations that we heard the word used, then created a memory sentence and drew a mind picture. My students were middle school age 6-8 with behavior disorders. They were so engaged daily that disruptive behaviors were few and far between. The instructor threw a new twist on "word maps" and we all benefited. The students did their very best because they knew I was submitting their "words maps" to East Carolina University.
