The Reading Program Area at East Carolina University offers many opportunities for professional development in all areas of literacy and literacy instruction.  Reading courses are included within many programs, and include coursework leading to North Carolina A-Level and M-Level Reading Licensure, and the M.A.Ed. in Reading Education degree.  For more information, please contact Area Coordinator for Reading Dr. Johna Faulconer  at (252)328-5570 or faulconerj@ecu.edu.

Registration for READ Courses
For help with registering for reading education courses, contact Ms. Linda Mellish (mellishl@ecu.edu) for undergraduate level courses and Dr. Terry Atkinson (atkinsont@ecu.edu) for graduate level courses.

Reading CEU Module
An exciting opportunity to earn CEU credit! Modules are developed by a team comprised of one ECU Faculty member and one master public school teacher. Each module requires approximately 10 hours of work in order to earn one (1) CEU of credit toward license renewal. This CEU will meet the literacy requirement.
