The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at East Carolina University is pleased to announce the 30th annual Mary Lois Staton Reading/Language Arts Conference. The conference will be held at the City Hotel and Bistro located at 203 SW Greenville Blvd, Greenville, NC on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 8 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. This year we are expecting over 300 participants including K-12 teachers, reading specialists, ECU education Students, and university faculty.
We would like to invite you to participate in our conference. The Mary Lois Staton Reading/Language Arts Conference presents an excellent professional development opportunity for educatorsin eastern North Carolina. This whole day conference will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Julie Coiro, from the University of Rhode Island. She will speak on the topic of “New Literacies” and we will learn how the Internet is changing reading and learning.
