Every month, the SCEC comes together for a social. We talk about upcoming events, as well as things away from campus. The SCEC’s September social, was held at Chili’s Restaurant and was held during St. Jude’s Week. All of the proceeds were donated to St. Jude’s Hospital.

The SCEC members attended this year's NCLDA conference at Meredith College. Special education faculty joined the members on this outing. There was also a wonderful opportunity to meet Dr. Levine, who was the guest speaker.

During this year's REAP Fall Festival, the SCEC created and hosted games for the children attending to play and enjoy. REAP is a developmental daycare center at ECU.  The daycare serves children with exceptionalities, as well as typically developing children.
