Action Research Projects

Assistive Technology Companies and Research

Working closely with schools and assistive technology companies, the AT center provides the opportunity to bridge research and practice. This past spring we had the opportunity to field test Laureate Software with school aged children. This study involved integrating software to improve language development.

For more information about Lareate software or the project, please contact Dr. Tara Jeffs at jeffst@ecu.edu

Teacher Initiated Research Projects

This past year we had the wonderful opportunity to work with teachers in their schools who had an interest in integrating and using assistive technologies in the classroom. Another project involved the use of the software program WordMaker, which helps young students build core literacy skills through phonics and spelling activities.

If you are in the Greenville, NC area and are interested in a classroom action research project involving assistive technology, please contact Dr. Tara Jeffs at jeffst@ecu.edu
