Dr. Chan Evans' primary research interests include characteristics of elementary-age students with emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD), using positive behavior supports to improve social skills and academic performance of young students with EBD, reciprocal peer tutoring for students with EBD, and special education teachers-as-researchers. She has spoken at local, statewide, and national conferences on these and other topics. Her articles have been published in Behavioral Disorders and Remedial and Special Education. In 2002, she received the Carl Fenichel Memorial Research Award from the Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders (CCBD), Council for Exceptional Children (CEC).
