Dr. David A. Powers is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. He retired at the close of Fall Semester 2006 after serving as a faculty member in the College of Education for more than 30 years and as a Department Chair for the past 7 years. His primary research interests are assistive technology, technology applications in teacher education, and teacher education curriculum and program models. His research has been published in Exceptional Children, Teaching Exceptional Children, The Department Chair, The Journal of Research on Computing in Education, American Middle School Education, Living With Children, and other journals. Dr. Powers is currently participating in the phased retirement program and is employed on a half-time basis as an assistant to the Interim Chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
