The mission of the Counselor Education Program at East Carolina University is to promote human development and learning by preparing professional counselors to assist children, adolescents, and adults with their educational, career, social, and personal decisions. The Counselor Education Program began in 1951 and today offers graduate studies at the Master's (M.S.) and the Educational Specialist Degree(Ed.S.) levels. The Counselor Education Program is located in the Department of Counselor and Adult Education (COAD) Department in 213 Ragsdale.
