The purpose of the colloquium, now approaching its 11th year, is to highlight the educational, career, and research interests of students in the Adult Education Masters program in ECU’s College of Education. The event features posters and oral presentations of students on topics such as learning and development models, program planning, instructional strategies, training and development, continuing professional development, diversity, literacy, health education, and community education. Nationally recognized educators join the Colloquium each year to speak on topics related to business and industry, health care, ethics, education, and other issues. The value of the Colloquium includes greater visibility and marketing for the College and represented departments, service to regional associations and Community Colleges, community and employer outreach, and greater educational and career development opportunity for our graduate students.
The Adult Education Research & Practice Colloquium is co-sponsored by the Department of Counselor and Adult Education, the Adult Education Association, the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development, and select area business and industries. We welcome the support of those interested in the education and training of adults in our region, state, and global community.
