We are interested in applications in microeconomics with a focus on risk and uncertainty to support our planned PhD program in Economics. The primary areas of focus for the PhD program are: environmental risk; public sector risk; risk and decision making; and analytic and econometric tools for risk evaluation. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. for the rank of Assistant Professor; alternatively, candidates that can demonstrate satisfactory progress toward completion of requirements for a doctoral degree will be considered at the rank of Instructor. Appointees are expected to undertake scholarly research publishable in leading journals, provide high quality teaching at the undergraduate and PhD level, and supervise graduate student research. Appropriate service to the university, community and profession is expected. Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience. The Department has successful undergraduate and MS programs, participates in interdisciplinary MS and PhD programs, and also works closely with the ECU Center for Natural Hazards Research.
