NORTH CAROLINA SUPERVISION ADD-ON LICENSE The supervision add-on license program is designed to prepare individuals to become instructional school leaders. Program studies include teacher leadership, law, policy, and politics in education, instructional leadership, and communication with home, school, and community. The program consists of 18-semester hours (including a 3 credit hour internship experience). With successful completion of the appropriate licensure exam, the candidate is eligible for the supervision
North Carolina curriculum instructional specialist level I license 113, class S. All individuals seeking the supervision add-on license must have:
- a master’s degree in education, or a related educational field
- a minimum of three years educationalexperience
- a valid continuing teaching license
In order to enroll in this add-on program the applicant must apply for admission as a non-degree seeking student.
The program is delivered on campus with mixed method delivery including online courses and face-to-face evening class sessions.
Application deadlines:
Fall: June 1st; Spring: October 15th; Summer 1: March 15th; Summer 2: May 1st.
