Fellowships and Scholarships

The following fellowships and scholarship are awarded each academic year. Applications must be completed by the first of January of each year to be eligible for the following academic year:

Provides a financial award that is available for graduate students in the Department of Educational Leadership. The winner of the award ($500/semester for two semesters) must demonstrate a potential for distinctive service in elementary and secondary schools and a potential to promote educational leadership in public schools.
Available for full-time (9hrs) graduate students in the Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership. The fellowship is available ($300/semester) for two semesters and can be renewed twice, i.e., a maximum of three years.
Available for full-time (9hrs) graduate students in the Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership. The fellowship ($600/semester) is available for two semesters.
Available for a deserving master's level student in the Department of Educational Leadership who is pursuing a career in educational administration in a North Carolina public school. First preference will be given to students from Chowan County and then the following counties: Currituck, Dare, Camden, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Washington, Tyrell, Bertie and Pitt. The scholarship will be awarded based upon academic ability (minimum 3.0 grade point average), academic major, demonstrated financial need and other criteria determined appropriate by the department committee. The fellowship is available ($500/semester) for two semesters.
Available for a graduate student who is selected as having the most outstanding dissertation in the Department of Educational Leadership. The award is for a one time amount of $1,000.
Available for full-time (9hrs) graduate students in the Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership. The fellowship is available ($5,000/semester) for two semesters and can be renewed twice, i.e., a maximum of three years. This fellowship is for students willing to work on projects or do research for professors for 20 hrs a week.
