Legislators' School Goals

• Become knowledgeable of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People/Teens
• Gain experience in practicing the seven habits of effective leadership
• Learn how to create a balance in their lives and to make responsible decisions
• Enhance self-understanding and self-acceptance
• Improve and increase understanding and acceptance to others
• Become more effective in interpersonal relationships
• Develop specific leadership skills in the areas of:
    1. communication
    2. problem solving
    3. decision-making
    4. creative and critical thinking
    5. organization and planning
    6. interpersonal skills
    7. conflict resolution

 The following are of great importance to us

1. HONOR AND TRUTH:
We expect students to be honest with each other and with faculty and staff members. Therefore, lying, cheating, and theft will not be tolerated, and may result in dismissal from the program.

2. MOTIVATION AND COMMITMENT:
Students should remember that the Legislators' School is a full-time one week commitment, including weekends. We ask that each member strive for excellence in his or her social and personal development. We expect students to exercise self-discipline and fulfill their roles in the program.

3. FAIR PLAY AND CIVILITY: Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and courtesy. Offensive, disruptive, or abusive behavior of a physical, visual, or verbal nature will absolutely not be tolerated in our school, and may result in dismissal from the program.
