Photo Consent
ECU activities and events, including summer science camps, may be photographed or videotaped for publication in ECU information and promotional materials. Campers may appear in these photographs or videos. If you do not wish for your child's image to be used for this purpose, you must notify the summer science camp director in writing one week prior to the start of camp.
Lunch
When requested, ECU will provide boxed lunches through various restaurants located in the Greenville area. To receive lunches, campers must register for the lunch program and pay the $25 with registration. The lunch hour, lasting from noon until 1:00pm, is supervised by ECU staff and is included in camp tuition. Campers who stay for lunch but do not purchase the lunch program are required to bring a lunch. Refrigerators, microwaves, and other kitchen equipment will not be available.
Dismissal
ECU reserves the right to dismiss a camper when the camp director deems dismissal necessary for the best interests of the camp. In the case of behavior problems, ECU will submit one written warning to the parent before dismissing any camper, unless the behavior in question endangers other campers, in which case a camper may be dismissed without a prior written warning to the parent.
Field Trips
ECU summer science camp staff may escort campers from the central program area to Pitt Memorial Hospital, Brody School of Medicine, or other locations on the ECU campus as part of the regular ECU Summer Science Camp activities. If a trip is planned for your child's camp session it will be indicated in the camp itinerary.
Pick-up/Drop-off Policies
Parents or guardians will drop campers off at the corner of Founders Drive and Duncan Court which runs behind the Flanagan building and is best accessed via 10th Street. Camp counselors will be there to help direct campers and drivers.
A parent or guardian must authorize up to three individuals to pick-up their camper. Authorized individuals will be required to present valid identification to pick-up any child from camp. Parents must also provide a contact number in case an authorized individual without valid identification or an unauthorized adult comes to pick-up their camper.
