College of Education: Preparing Teachers and Education Professionals
Mathematics and Science Education Noyce Scholars Program

The East Carolina University Mathematics and Science Education Noyce Scholars Program recruits strong mathematics, science, and engineering students into mathematics or science teaching. It seeks to do this by providing substantial financial support to students who meet the qualifications of the program. Noyce Scholars receive their education, licensure, and agree to teach mathematics or science in a high-need school or district (two years teaching for each year of funding).

For undergraduate students, the ECU Noyce Scholars Program provides $10,000 per year for juniors and seniors pursuing a major in mathematics, science, or engineering AND teacher licensure. For graduate students, the program provides $17,680 for one year of work in the MAT in Science Education or Middle Grades Education (concentration in mathematics or science). Eligibility for the Noyce Scholars Program at the MAT level is an undergraduate degree in mathematics, science, or engineering.
