Annie Kraybill, a graduate student in the Master of Science in Instructional Technology program, has been awarded the honor of participating in the program Developing a Model for Technology Based Museum School Partnerships. Annie was one of the 10 participants to be invited to this workshop.
Curt Carter and Scott MacLean, graduate students in the Master of Science in Instructional Technology program, are presenting The ABCs of Essential Mathematics at the NCMATYC Conference.
Dedra Davis, a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Education in Instructional Technology program, had an article published in ENCOUNTER, Volume 24, Winter 2011. Her article is "What I wished my teacher had known about students with physical disabilities." Ms. Davis's article focuses on using current research to make classrooms more friendly, engaging, and safe for students with physical disabilities.
Ken Hubbell received the AECT Interactive Media Production Award in the Linear Media Award Category.
Ashley R. Harrell has recently been awarded Outstanding Mathematics Education Student by NCCTM.

Lisa Staats, a Chocowinity Middle School mathematics teacher, was named Regional Teacher of the Year and will move on to vie for the state award.
Ann McClung, a science teacher at South Central High School, received the Bi Hunsucker award from the North Carolina Science Teacher Association.
Brandi Newell has been awarded Cumberland County Outstanding Elementary Mathematics Teacher.
In Memoriam
Stella Mizell Daugherty, former Math Department Faculty member, passed away August 20, 2012. She is remembered fondly for many reasons, including her dedication to preparing teachers of mathematics.
