EDUCATION FACULTY PRESENT AT STATE CONFERENCE                        
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Greenville, NC – Several members of East Carolina University’s College of Education faculty participated at the 2005 North Carolina Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) recently in Wilmington, NC.

Twenty-five percent of the presentations held during the 3-day conference were conducted by faculty from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.  In addition, Debbie Metcalf, a teacher-in-residence in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and instructor with Pitt County Schools delivered the conference keynote address. Metcalf is CEC’s 2004 Clarissa Hug International Teacher of the Year.

“We were extremely please to have our faculty so well-represented at this conference,” stated David Powers, Chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. “With the state CEC conference held in eastern North Carolina, it was especially important that we showcase the many exciting and innovative things going on in our programs.”
