August 23, 2006- Dr. White was an invited presenter to the Library World Congress at the International Federation of Library Associations in Seoul, South Korea on August 23, 2005. Dr. White presented two peer reviewed papers to an international audience as a part of two international panels of presenters; one paper to the Management and Marketing section entitled “Using the L.E.A 3.D. Technique to Turn Your Competition into an Emergent Strategic Tool” and a second paper to the Knowledge Management, Statistics, and Evaluation section entitled “Library Administrators Knowledge Management Practices and Perceptions When Conducting Organizational Performance Assessment.”
Dr. White was the only invited presenter from the United States on the two panels and ECU was the only US library school to be represented by a presenter at the World Library Congress. Dr. White received a $500 travel grant from the ECU International House in support of this presentation.
October 25, 2006- Dr. White has been invited by the Chilean Library Association and the US Embassy in Santiago, Chile to be the inaugural key note speaker at the joint XXVI International Santiago Book Fair / Chilean Library Association International Library Conference on August 25-27, 2006. Dr. White will be making several presentations including the key note address on the future of library science education in the knowledge management area and other presentations on new library management and assessment strategies and concepts.
