Goodwill and Good Books for the Needy
Greenville, NC - Last holiday season the Department of Library Science and Instructional Technology (LSIT) decided to share goodwill and good books with the needy in our community. Each member of the department purchased at least one new book for the small library in the Greenville Community Shelter. Books were selected with the hope that those in need might have something to read that was both encouraging and comforting during the holidays. Most of the books were for the children or youth who might be in need of services from the shelter.
This year, LSIT has decided to make book donations an annual tradition. LSIT faculty invites fellow College of Education faculty and staff to join them in donating children’s or young adult books to the Greenville Community Shelter. Book donations can be brought to the Joyner Library Conference Room 2406 through December 15th. The books will be delivered to Lynne James, Director of the Greenville Community Shelter, on December 16th.
